Tim Butt – Where did I begin ?
My Martial Art background started in Taekwondo in the 1980’s After several years I became a 3rd Dan Black Belt and ran my own club in Banbury, UK. I then became a police instructor in Officer Safety and Tactics and the use of the police baton, handcuffs and spray. I have also practiced Tai Chi and Wing Chun Kung Fu and also dabbled in many other martial arts and similar past times.
I decided to publish by own blog which was created during the Covid 19 pandemic.
During the pandemic I have continued my study of martial arts and in particular Tai Chi. I have now qualified as a certified Instructor with The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.
I am also a qualified Hypnotherapist and Sports Coach.
Zing Zang – where did it begin ?
What do I name it ? I asked myself. The Yin Yang theory came to mind which is particularly relevant to Chinese Martial Arts. What is catchy and sounds similar, Zing Zang I considered.
After some research it became known to me that a type of Bloody Mary cocktail is named a Zing Zang. Something I must try.

In a Google search Zing and Zang also came up as a book mark with a Yin Yang symbol. Described as “Novelty silver coloured bookmark gift Zing and Zang”. I believe the seller was confused or maybe had too many Zing Zang cocktails.
Zing-Zang Martial Arts was then created.
Enjoy my blog and browsing through my website.
