Yi Jin Jing, “Muscle/Tendon Changing Classic”) is a traditional set of Chinese qigong exercises designed to strengthen the body, improve flexibility, and cultivate internal energy. The classic system consists of 12 fundamental moves.
I have produced this 10 minute routine consisting of the 12 movements:
Note:
- The names and minor details may vary across different schools. Some versions only have 10 moves, and in other schools, the moves are considerably different but they all contain the same overall characteristics.
- Yi Jin Jing should be practiced slowly, with attention to breathing and mindful movement.
The training video above has the breathing routine explained in the audio. To begin with just practice the moves. You can take it as fast or slow as required. Some of the moves appear to require quite a bit of flexibility but just perform them in a relaxed way without overstretching. Keep within your personal limits so you can continue to enjoy these movements.
